FAQs

  • My fee is $200 per 50-minute psychotherapy session.

  • I am in-network with select insurance networks. Please contact me to determine whether or not you are eligible for authorized services using your insurance benefits. If I am not in-network with your insurance company, I can provide you with a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company. A superbill is akin to a receipt, and many insurance networks (depending on the specifics of your plan), will reimburse you a portion of the session cost.

  • I start by offering a free 15-minute phone consultation. This will give us the opportunity to briefly assess whether or not meeting for an initial session will be beneficial. After talking, if we feel that it will be useful to meet, we can set up a 50-minute initial consultation. If meeting doesn’t feel right, I will give you the names and contact information for a couple providers who may be a better fit.

During the first session, I will ask you lots of questions about your background, history, and present circumstances. It’s important to me to try and get as much information as possible so I have a well rounded impression of you and the reasons you are coming to therapy. At the same time, I like to give you lots of space to talk about what feels most important. I can learn a lot about you, just by paying careful attention to the topics you gravitate towards and the ones you avoid. At the end of our session, I’ll give you my impression of what might be helpful, and we can talk more in depth about what treatment might look like. There is no “one size fits all” approach to treatment, so it’s important for me to get to know you, before I make any treatment recommendations.

  • Sessions are once a week, and sometimes more if we feel it’s necessary. Therapy works best when we meet consistently, because it gives us the time and space to really dig into the issues you’re experiencing.
